We have beach bonfires, game nights and movie nights. We are also always open to new ideas from our guests on what group activities they would like to do. also invite guests to join us at the turtle refuge to learn about our sea turtle conservation efforts and to get a hands-on experience releasing baby turtles into the ocean. Barra de potosi is also a short van ride away and offers beautiful beaches, a lagoon with kayaking and many restaurants with outside seating and hammocks.
We have thought of all the details so that you can enjoy a relaxing holiday. From tents wrapped with string lights for soft light at night, to communal areas with hammocks, books and games, you have everything you need to unwind.
We (Samara & Sebastian) are the owners of Hostel Flakos. But of course we have a lot of supporters like Family, Friends and Neighbors. We always envisioned a place where all are welcome to come and enjoy our supportive community. We were inspired to open our hostel to provide a safe and friendly place with several different price options so everyone can afford to come and enjoy this beautiful area.
The design of our hostel is very open and communal. We offer single beds in glamping bell tents, wrapped with string lights for soft light at night. We have outdoor showers for our tent guests. We also have two bungalows with a king bed and air conditioning. The bungalows both have large, beautiful, open-air bathrooms with hot water. The heart of our hostel is our communal area. We have picnic tables, benches, hammocks, a book shelf with books and games and an open-air kitchen area for all to use. Our kitchen has refrigeration, a stove, microwave, drinking water and dishes.

We want to help our guests learn about the world through community and meeting other people from all different cultures and backgrounds. We also strive to offer a very supportive community to inspire others to change their lives for the better.
Our hostel uses a biodigester to filter used water to reuse for watering plants, etc. We also use solar heaters for our water and have future plans to incorporate a water collection system as well. We also work closely with the local turtle rescue and wildlife refuge and encourage our guests to participate in events such as releasing baby turtles.
